'Laalo' resonates at Cannes; Gujarati cinema creates history

Mumbai, May 15 (UNI) Gujarati cinema achieved a landmark moment as "Laalo – Shri Krishna Sada Sahayate" made its presence felt at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, taking regional Indian storytelling to an international audience.
This achievement is a celebration of Indian cinema, true stories rooted in the soil and the recognition being received by stories from different parts of the country across the world. The film's team expressed gratitude to the audience for their continued love and support, which made this special journey possible.
Director Ankit Sakhiya said, "It is a proud and extremely emotional moment for us to represent 'Laalo - Shri Krishna Sada Sahayate' at the Cannes Film Festival. We believe that our language, our culture and this film have brought us this far. We may not be big enough to present such a rich culture to the world in its entirety, but it is a matter of pride for us to present a small glimpse of Gujarat and its spirituality to the world through 'Laalo'. We hope that this film will touch people's hearts beyond language and borders."
The film's producers Ajay Balwant Padariya, Jay Vyas and Jigar Dalsania said, "As producers of 'Laalo - Shri Krishna Sada Sahayate', our biggest endeavor has always been to ensure that this story reaches as many people as possible. Cinema becomes special when it touches people's hearts, sparks conversation, and resonates with audiences beyond the screen. Reaching the Cannes Film Festival is a big step towards that dream of taking our culture, emotions, and story to audiences across the world through Laalo."
Produced by Manifest Films, Jai Vyas Productions, Jigar Dalsania, Parthiv Jodhani and Ajay Balwant Padariya, the film stars Riva Rachh, Shruhad Goswami and Karan Joshi in lead roles. Shubham Gajjar serves as the director of photography (DOP) and creative producer.
"Laalo – Shri Krishna Sada Sahayate" will air on Sunday, May 17, at 1 pm only on Sony Max.
