'Saiyaara' team reunites for an intense romance drama

Mumbai, Apr 15 (UNI) The team behind the blockbuster "Saiyaara" is set to reunite for another romantic drama, with filmmaker Mohit Suri, Akshay Widhani and Gen-Z stars Ahan Pandey and Aneet Padda coming together once again for an untitled project.
After the tremendous success of the film, which became the highest-grossing love story in the history of Indian cinema, the team is back with their next untitled film, which will present a wonderful blend of a heart-warming story and memorable music.
The film received tremendous critical acclaim upon its release, becoming one of the biggest musical blockbusters of its time. The film grossed ₹338 crore net in India and approximately ₹580 crore gross worldwide, a remarkable achievement for a romantic musical made with an entirely new cast. Its music dominated streaming charts for a long time and its popularity continued even after its release, making the film a pop culture phenomenon in India and globally, especially among the youth.
Suri said, “For me, it's always been about love stories... when emotions become so deep, uncontrollable, and all-consuming that they become difficult to ignore. Love must be felt with all its intensity, and that's why I'm drawn to this genre as a storyteller. This film explores that emotion openly. Working with the team of 'Saiyaara' again is very special, as if it were destined. It's a homecoming of sorts, but with a renewed creative appetite. This time around, I feel like a new artist—excited, a little nervous, and hopeful that my music will touch people's hearts once again.”
YRF CEO Widhani added, “Our collaboration with Mohit is based on a shared creative vision and an ambition to tell heartwarming stories. Making a film with him is not just about a project, but about finding a feeling, a tune, and a moment that stays with the audience long after the film ends. 'Saiyaara' was one such experience that we will always cherish. Now that we are coming together again, we are striving to create something even more authentic, more sensitive, and more memorable. We are delighted to have Ahaan and Aneet join us again, as Gen-Z's most loved couple will once again be seen in Mohit Suri's romantic world.”
The film will go on floors later this year and is scheduled to release in theatres worldwide in 2027. UNI NST CDS
