Home voting to start in Kolkata tomorrow

Kolkata, April 15 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on Wednesday that home voting facilities for senior citizens aged 85 years and above, along with persons with disabilities (PwD), will begin across all Assembly Constituencies in Kolkata North from April 16.
The initiative is designed to improve accessibility and inclusivity in the electoral process. Elderly voters above 85 years of age and persons with disabilities (PwDs) flagged in the electoral rolls will be able to cast their vote through postal ballot. Officials clarified that such electors must apply to their respective Returning Officer within five days from the date of notification in order to avail themselves of this facility.
Polling teams accompanied by Central Forces and police will visit homes to get the votes. EVMS will be used to collect the votes.
