Maharashtra scorched by heatwave: govt announces new SOP, bans outdoorwork from 12 PM to 4 PM

Mumbai, Apr 15 (UNI) As temperatures continue to soar across Maharashtra, the state government has introduced strict measures to protect citizens and outdoor workers from the intensifying heatwave.
Disaster Management Minister Girish Mahajan has announced a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), imposing restrictions on outdoor work during peak afternoon hours.
To curb heat-related illnesses and fatalities, the government has ordered a complete halt to all outdoor work between 12 PM and 4 PM during ‘Orange’ and ‘Red’ heatwave alerts. Revised working hours have been implemented, allowing work from 6 AM to 11 AM and 4 PM to 8 PM.
