Matthew Lillard boards 'Man of Tomorrow'

Los Angeles, May 7 (UNI) Actor Matthew Lillard has officially joined the cast of "Man of Tomorrow", the upcoming sequel to "Superman", being developed under DC Studios.
The project is being directed, written and produced by James Gunn, with David Corenswet reprising his role as Superman, reports DEADLINE.
Lillard joins an ensemble that includes Nicholas Hoult playing Lex Luthor, Lars Eidinger as Brainiac, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathon Fillion as Guy Gardner and Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific. Adria Arjona is also on board to play Maxima and Aaron Pierre is also in the picture.
The film, currently in production, is set to bow on July 9, 2027.
It follows the success of "Superman", which opened strongly with $125 million in the US and went on to cross $300 million domestically, marking a solid turnaround moment for DC’s theatrical slate.
As for Lillard, he has had a busy couple of months that began with his return to the "Scream" franchise with "Scream 7", reprising his role of Stu Macher. He followed that up with a role in the second season of Cross and was also recently seen in the second season of "Daredevil: Born Again", which just had its season finale on Disney . UNI NST SSP
