Odisha:BJD protests LPG price hike,warns of statewide agitation

Bhubaneswar, Mar 11 (UNI) The Biju Janata Dal (BJD), the principal opposition party in Odisha, on Wednesday, staged a protest here against the recent surge in LPG cylinder prices, cooking oil, and other essential commodities, which they termed as arbitrary price hike.
Hundreds of BJD supporters, including women, youth, students, and common citizens, gathered to voice their anger over the rising costs, which have severely impacted the daily lives of ordinary people.
Members from BJD’s Women, Youth, and Student Wings played a central role in the demonstration, underscoring the growing dissatisfaction across the state.

Patna, Apr 21 (UNI) Independent MP from Purnea, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, has landed in a fresh political controversy after remarking that “90 percent of women cannot succeed in politics without entering the rooms of politicians.”
Speaking at a press conference on the Women’s Reservation Amendment Bill, Pappu Yadav raised the issue of atrocities against women, from homes and offices to legislative bodies. He claimed that politicians are at the forefront when it comes to exploiting women, adding that politicians, from the United States to India, cast predatory eyes on women.
