Then there are nights at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium when they resemble witnesses to a minor demolition. Royal Challengers Bengaluru's five-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants in their IPL 2026 encounter belonged to the latter category, a contest where inevitability arrived early and refused to leave.
Asked to bat first, Lucknow Super Giants were dismissed for 146 in 20 overs, a total that looked competitive only in the abstract and fragile in practice.
