PBKS still control playoff destiny, insists Haddin

Dharamshala, May 15 (UNI) Despite suffering a fifth consecutive defeat after their six-wicket loss to Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings assistant coach Brad Haddin remained confident that the team still controls its own playoff destiny in IPL 2026.
On Thursday, Punjab Kings looked set for a difficult total after losing wickets in quick succession during the middle overs, but a strong counterattack from the lower order helped them recover impressively and post 200/8. The late hitting ensured PBKS stayed in the contest until the final over, even though Mumbai eventually chased down the target with one ball remaining.
While the defeat extended Punjab’s losing streak to five matches, the team still remains in the top four with 13 points and continues to stay firmly in the playoff race heading into the final phase of the league stage.
