‎Rajya Sabha polls: BJP wins all five seats in Bihar, 4 Grand Alliance MLAs remain absent during voting

‎‎New Delhi, March 16 (UNI) The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured all five Rajya Sabha seats from Bihar and three of the four seats from Odisha, where voting took place on Monday.
The winning candidates from Bihar include BJP's National President Nitin Nabin and his party colleague Shivesh Ram, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Ramnath Thakur from the Janata Dal (United), and Upendra Kushwaha from the Rashtriya Lok Morcha.
In a significant development, while the NDA remained intact, the Grand Alliance ( GA) camp emerged as a divided house, as four of its legislators - three of the Congress and one affiliated to the Rashtriya Janata Dal - were absent during the voting. This paved the way for an easy victory for the NDA in the fifth seat, which was expected to see a close contest.
