BJP fields Manmohan Samal & Sujeet Kumar for Odisha Rajya Sabha elections

Bhubaneswar, Mar 3 (UNI) The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday approved the names of Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal and Sujeet Kumar as the party’s candidates for the March 16 Rajya Sabha elections from Odisha.
Sujeet Kumar will be all likely to be elected to the Rajya Sabha for a second consecutive term. He was earlier elected to the Upper House from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) but resigned from the party and joined the BJP in September 2024. Following his departure, he was expelled from the BJD on charges of anti-party activities.
Manmohan Samal, who currently serves as the Odisha BJP president, had contested the 2024 Assembly elections but was defeated.
