Barbra Streisand to be conferred with honorary Palme d'Or at 78th Cannes

Cannes, March 11 (UNI) Acclaimed American singer, actress and filmmaker Barbra Streisand will be honoured with the prestigious Honorary Palme d'Or at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, scheduled to take place in May.
Her most famous and iconic songs include the chart-topping ballads "The Way We Were," "Evergreen" (from A Star Is Born), "Woman in Love" and "People".
The Oscar-winning music artist and actress follows in the wake of past honorees Agnès Varda, Marco Bellocchio, Jodie Foster, Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro and Tom Cruise.
She will receive the honorary palm during the awards ceremony on May 23. As previously announced by the festival last week, Peter Jackson will also receive an honorary palm this year on the opening night of the festival, reports DEADLINE.
The 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is scheduled to take place from May 12 to May 23. UNI NST SSP
